Jyrki Linjama’s church opera Three Letters to Laestadius (Kolme kirjettä Laestadiukselle) is now available as a video online. The production was staged in Oulu on 12 October, as part of Oulu’s contemporary music festival. The story takes place while the Swedish revivalist preacher Lars Levi Laestadius is dying, and addresses major human issues in a dream-like state. The title role is sung by Esa Ruuttunen and the stage director is Michael Baran, who wrote the libretto with Linjama. The Soli Deo Gloria chamber orchestra is conducted by Juhani Lamminmäki.
